Awarded: 2017-18, 2018-19, 2022-2023, 2023-24, 2025-26

Named after prominent local umpire, businessman, and community volunteer Norm Jenner OAM, and donated by the Toowoomba Cricket Umpires Association, the Norm Jenner Trophy is awarded by Toowoomba Cricket Inc. each season to the club “which best displays the “Spirit of Cricket”.

Most clubs (including University) typically chase A Grade Premierships and Club Championships as the pinnacle of the game. The “Spirit of Cricket” award is not so highly coveted, but it is one that the University Cricket Club would certainly rank right up the top. Yes, winning premierships is the club’s ultimate goal, but not at the expense of enjoyment to the players and playing in the right “Spirit” of the game.

University are proud to have now won this award in five of the twelve years it has been presented, and 3 times out of the last 4 years.

A massive congratulations should go to the entire club – board, players, and supporters included – for this achievement. Let’s keep up the great work in the future and never lose sight of the importance of this award.
